At Hunt's we say "NO" to chemicals like lye*. Instead, we peel our tomatoes with Flashsteam®, from simple hot water. This allows us to get more out of every tomato, which means less waste in landfills and no chemical by-products go back into the earth. We just think it's the right thing to do.

*Lye peeling is generally recognized as safe by the FDA and has no adverse effects on the healthfulness of tomatoes.
