Basil-sorrel paste can be made as a pure herb paste or as a preparation much like Italian pesto. If it is a pure herb paste, it is most likely to contain basil leaf and sorrel leaf blended into a paste with a preservative and/or food acid (for example, citric acid). However, basil-sorrel paste may also refer to a paste typically containing a vegetable oil, basil, sorrel and Parmesan cheese.
