Antioxidants (Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopherols, Chamomile And Rosemary Extract)

Antioxidants are ingredients that reduce the oxidation of other ingredients. For example, antioxidants are used to prevent the oxidation of the fatty acids in oils, which leads to rancidity. Ascorbyl palmitate is a form of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). It is often used in foods containing oils to help reduce oxidation or rancidity.  Tocopherols are a fat-soluble form of vitamin E. Vitamins are essential nutrients. Tocopherols are a form of vitamin E derived from vegetable oils.  They can stabilize fats and help extend shelf life in food. Chamomile extract is the essential oil, oleoresin, essence, or extractive derived from Chamomile. Chamomile or camomile is the common name for several daisy-like plants of the family Asteraceae. The extracts are thought to have antioxidant properties. Rosemary extracts are derived from rosemary and contain several compounds that can be considered to be antioxidative including the phenolic diterpenes carnosol and carnosic acid.
