Avobenzone

Avobenzone is an oil soluble ingredient used in sunscreen products to help absorb the full spectrum of the sun's UVA/UVB rays. Unlike most sunscreen chemicals, avobenzone absorbs the UV rays and converts them to energy, making it more skin friendly. This ingredient was approved by the FDA in 1998 for use in cosmetics and is considered to be safe for topical use.
