Flour*
Flour is a powder made from cereal grains or roots, most often wheat but can also come from rice, corn, tapioca, peanuts and so on. It is the main ingredient in breads and most baked goods and has very high starch content. Depending on how refined the grain is, the flour may appear brown or white. Flours nutritional composition depending on their main ingredient source and extent of processing. There are likely allergen properties attached to the flour, but depend on what type it is. For example, wheat flour contains the protein gluten, and its associated allergen properties. Similarly, individuals with peanut or nut allergies should avoid peanut or nut flours.
