Claims listed within SmartLabel are either governed by entities such as the USDA, FDA, EPA, etc., or defined by participating brands.
Fat Free
The Fat Free Claim includes all products making a claim related to being free of fat per FDA regulation.
Gluten Free
The Gluten Free Claim includes products making a gluten free claim.
Non GMO
The Non GMO claim attribute includes any food or beverage product that makes a claim to be non-GMO.
Organic
The Organic claim attribute includes all products that are making a claim generally related to organic on their package.
Organic Ingredient
Includes all products making a claim to having organic ingredients in the product.
USDA Organic
The USDA Organic attribute includes any food or beverage product that has a USDA Organic Certification and meets each of the following requirements: 1) The product is produced without excluded methods, (e.g., genetic engineering, ionizing radiation, or sweage sludge); 2) The product is produced without any excluded substances (National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances); 3) The production of the product is overseen by a USDA National Organic Program-authorized certifying agent, following all USDA organic regulations.
