Stove Top: Heat over medium heat in saucepan until hot, stirring occasionally.
Microwave: Microwave beans in covered microwave-safe dish on HIGH 1 1/2 minutes or until hot. Stir before serving.
Ingredients
3 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 serrano chile pepper, seeded and chopped
1 can (15 oz) Rosarita® Premium Seasoned Pinto Beans, undrained
1 teaspoon chipotle-flavored hot pepper sauce
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper.
Directions
1. Cook bacon in 10-inch skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes. Remove bacon and leave drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon; set aside.
2. Add onion, garlic and chile pepper to skillet. Cook over medium heat 2 minutes or until tender, stirring constantly. Stir in bacon, beans and pepper sauce; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 10 minutes. Beans will have a slightly soupy consistency. Stir in black pepper.
