MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS - CRUMBLE 1 POUND LEAN GROUND BEEF INTO 3 QUART MICROWAVEABLE CASSEROLE OR BOWL. MICROWAVE UNCOVERED ON HIGH, 3 TO 6 MINUTES BREAKING UP BEEF HALFWAY THROUGH, UNTIL BROWN. DRAIN. STIR IN 1/2 CUP BOILING WATER, 2 1/4 CUPS 2% MILK, UNCOOKED PASTA AND SAUCE MIX. MICROWAVE UNCOVERED 15 TO 20 MINUTES; STIRRING EVERY 5 MINUTES, UNTIL PASTA IS TENDER. (SAUCE WILL THICKEN AS IT STANDS.) DISH WILL BE HOT.
SKILLET INSTRUCTIONS - BROWN 1 POUND LEAN GROUND BEEF IN A 10 INCH SKILLET AND DRAIN. STIR IN 1/2 CUP HOT WATER, 2 1/4 CUPS 2% MILK (ADD MILK SLOWLY), SAUCE MIX AND UNCOOKED PASTA. HEAT TO BOILING; STIRRING OCCASIONALLY. REDUCE HEAT; COVER AND SIMMER 10 MINUTES, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY, UNTIL PASTA IS TENDER. REMOVE FROM HEAT AND UNCOVER. LET STAND 3-5 MINUTES (SAUCE WILL THICKEN AS IT STANDS).
Because liquids evaporate faster in high altitude areas, increase water amount and cook times if needed.
