Dolly's Extra Special Banana Pudding Cake

you will need:

1/4 cup instant vanilla pudding mix

1/2 cup milk

28 vanilla wafers

3/4 cup heavy whipping cream

1 container (16 oz each) Dolly Parton's Buttercream Frosting 1 large banana, thinly sliced (24 slices)

DO NOT EAT RAW BATTER.

1. bake 

Bake round cake layers according to directions above. Cool completely.

2. make toppings 

Whisk together pudding mix and 1/2-cup milk in small bowl until blended. Set aside to thicken. Place 14 vanilla wafers in a resealable bag; crush to coarse crumbs. Pour heavy cream into large bowl and beat with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes. Scoop 2 tablespoons buttercream into whipped cream and mix on low just until blended.

3. decorate Place one cooled cake layer on serving plate. Spread vanilla pudding evenly over and top with 12 slices of banana. Sprinkle 1/4-cup crushed vanilla wafers over and place second cake layer on top of first. Frost entire cake with remaining buttercream frosting. Press remaining crushed wafers on side of cake. Decorate top of cake with whipped cream, whole vanilla wafers, and sliced bananas. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Dolly's Favorite Banana Cake

CONVENTIONAL OVEN INSTRUCTIONS:

you will need:

1-1/2 cups milk

4 large eggs

10 tablespoons melted butter

DO NOT EAT RAW BATTER.

DIRECTIONS:

1. PREP

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray bottom and sides of pan(s) with PAM Baking Spray.

2. MIX

Whisk cake mix, milk, eggs, and melted butter together in a large bowl until well blended, about 1 minute. Pour into pan(s).

3. BAKE

Bake on rack in center of oven according to chart below. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake(s) in pan on wire rack 15 minutes. Remove cake(s) from pan and cool completely before frosting.
