Cayenne Pepper Sauce
Peppers are the fruit of the genus known as Capsicum, flowering plants in the nightshade family Solanaceae. While native to the Americas, peppers have grown to become cultivated worldwide and are now vital components to many cultural cuisines as spices and vegetables. Some can even be found as ingredients in medicinal products. Most fruit in the Capsicum family contains Capsaicin, the active component that causes a sensation of burning and irritation for mammals that is the hallmark of pepper usage in cuisine, giving spice to food. To get the sauce form, the peppers are crushed.
